Brighton Estates, in Wasatch County, was established in the early 1960s. The first cabins were built in the mid-60s and many others were built in the 1970s. Brighton Estates is located in the mountains above Park City/Brighton/ and Midway, Utah. Access is via Guardsman Pass Road and Pine Canyon Road.

Brighton Estates began with over 400 parcels of ½ to 1 acre in size. The 2007 Wasatch County tax rolls list over 250 owners in the Brighton Estates area. Several current owners have multiple lots. The Brighton Estates Property Owners Association has annual dues

Building requirements have changed dramatically since the 1960s which means many of the original cabins are rustic A-frame designs. A few cabins are still being constructed or remodeled. Several people in the Brighton Estates community live there year-around. Access is via snowmobile or cross-country skis. Sometimes the winter road is plowed part way.

The Association is organized with a volunteer board of nine members who meet monthly to discuss and solve various problems and maintenance issues. Property owners are welcome to attend any of the monthly board meetings. The Association holds an annual meeting for all property owners. Only dues paying members are allowed to vote on issues and for the election of board members at the annual meeting, however all property owners are invited to attend.
